Almost Done!!

Sorry it's been a month since my last post! I haven't had anything super exciting to write about and I... I have no excuse haha. :)

First off... I cannot believe that I'll be done with my freshman year in just three and a half weeks!!! This year has flown by!! Especially this second semester!

I realized today that I've got lots of random pictures on my phone and so I'll be telling the story of the last couple weeks with lots of pictures!!

So to set the stage...
In case you've forgotten, I go to a stunning school. If I could, I would probably take a picture of how beautiful this place is everytime I go outside! And even the view from my room is beautiful!

(fyi, there is going to be a lot of melanie's in this post - I have at least three different close friends named melanie! But this melanie is the one I did the chef competition with!)
So Melanie and I made cookies with this awesome little cookie-stamping tool that I bought a few months ago, to thank the chefs for the awesome experience! The cookies turned out to be pretty darn cute!!

Shira and I all dressed up for our big presentation on the U.S./Mexico Border Policy.

This is the cutie-pie that I nannied for over spring break.

Two weeks ago (the first week back from spring break), several of my friends and I had a pretty epic night! Andrew Bird, an awesome indie/folk artist, was in town so we went to that and then went straight from there to the midnight showing of the Hunger Games. Both were awesome!!

Me and Lindsey after the concert...

Robin, Shannon and I...
Wash U bought out a whole theater for The Hunger Games :D

So that weekend, the Dean of the school of Arts and Sciences, hosted a Farmer's Market shopping/cooking day. Shannon and I went and we had a blast! The day was absolutely perfect (weather-wise) and we had a blast making pasta from scratch, making beignets, making a huge salad, cooking veggies, eating SHARK, and just hanging out with about 12 other students!
Here's out pasta drying :) I am SO doing this when I get home!!

With the lemons I bought at the Farmer's Market, I made lemon bars for my floor in honor of the BEAUTIFUL weather we have had! Ever since spring break, it has been between 75 and 90 degrees with beautiful blue skies! I am in love with spring in missouri!! I am more tan now than I usually am by like mid-july back home!!

Last Thursday, our College Council (which I am a part of) hosted another Brinner (Breakfast for dinner). We made a gazillion pancakes for both dorms that make up the Brookings Residential College and I had a blast making pancakes for a couple hours!!
Fyi, the best combo is to mix in mnms so that they melt into the batter and than take these "chocolate" pancakes and put bananas on them when they are on the griddle.... soooo good!

I've been taking a lot of walks through forest park this spring!! I can't believe I never came down here last fall! It's gorgeous and there are so many people out - I love being in the "real world" :)
This picture made me feel like I was in Africa, not St. Louis!

So then... last weekend we chose our suite for next year! I'm living with 5 other girls (none of whom I am living with now). It's pretty funny because our suite is going to be Mackenzie, Marli, Melanie, Melanie, Libby and Christy :D Try keeping track of that haha!! Marli got elected to the Congress of the South 40 Exec Board and so we got to pick our room before everyone else! We have six people so we had to go for one of the traditional dorms... but I dont' really care because they are going to be super fun girls to live with and the dorms aren't that bad at all!! Plus we get a big common room and a balcony! We got to tour the dorm and I took several pictures :) Here they are!

So the building in the back there is ours... and we're on the top floor. You can see our balcony. Our rooms all face the other side.

Closer up... Top floor, smack dab in the middle there.

This is going to be me and Christy's room!! (View from the door)
And these girls are VERY messy so sorry about that!!

From the window

Bathroom... we've got a bathroom stall and shower stall too.

And the view from our balcony!! How pretty is that! And the sun will shine on us and it's going to be perfect!! I didn't get a picture of the common room because the girls who live there now were in there so it would have been awkward haha... but when we move in in the fall I'll put up plenty of pictures!!

This weekend was RCO (Residential College Olympics). CS40 hosts this competition between all the dorms in all sorts of sports. This was before the 5K in the morning! My first race in soooooo long!! I ran it and had no back pain! Woohoo!!
Oh, and Melanie (future suitemate - is the one in the light blue!)

Then... Saturday afternoon several of us had a picnic in Forest Park!! It was a beautiful 80 degree day and we had a blast! We all made/brought something and brought homework too :/ We stayed there for 4 hours!

Shannon made a delicious salad for which I shall be getting the recipe and making this summer! Robin made finger sandwichs, I brought my left over lemon bars and made strawberry vanilla cheesecake bars! I also brought a gigantic bag of fresh fruit!1

View from our little picnie spot.

Yummy!

This area is called art hill. The art museum is just up the hill and to the right of where this picture is taken from.

This is from the top of Art Hill - where the art museum is

And finally... I was lying outside doing homework on Sunday in the 90 DEGREE WEATHER! What the heck!! It was April 1st!!! Anyways the picture is random but brings back good memories of lying in the SHADE in that heat (cuz now its cold and raining).

And that is all!! Hope you enjoyed this little photo montage. I shall continue to take random picutres and post them!! I promise it won't be May 1st before I post again!
<3 Mackenzie
