Last Friday, Iie took me to one of the local schools to teach English! These were the kids who had preformed at the Gala and who thought Spencer was Niall from One Direction :) At the Gala, they had begged me to come to their school - so Iie set it up and it was a blast!
When I got out of the car in the middle of the school compound, all the children who were playing ball, and those outside the classrooms just stopped and stared. "Who is this WHITE girl?!" ha! Then, the second I walked in the classroom all the kids started yelling, "bule bule bule bule bule!" which means "white girl white girl white girl!" hahaha!
I was a bit lost at first - no one told me what I was supposed to do, they just said "teach English!" um.... I took their textbook and had them flip to the lesson they were on. We went through one of the lessons in the book and then I decided to mix it up a little and play pictionary! We play pictionary in my swahili class at school and those classes were always so fun! I gave the kids a simple word in English like "bed" and they had to draw it and then their schoolmates would have to guess it in English! They loved it and we had so much fun.
