Week 1 - DONE!

Well, somehow it's Friday already! This week really flew by... I don't know whether it was the fact that it was only a four day week, that I'm still getting used to things here, that I'm having a blast or just the fact that it was the first week of school!

Classes have been going really well so far. I'm taking:

Present Moral Problems: a philosophy course for my IAS (international and area studies) major. We'll be reading about and discussing some of the biggest "moral" issues of our time. I'm looking forward to challenging myself and discovering what I really think about certain issues. I don't anticipate it being too difficult of a class but don't quote me on that in a few months!

Swahili: Hujambo rafiki! (Hello friend!) So far it has been really great! We learned how to have a short conversation yesterday: hello, how are you, what's your name, where are you from... It's pretty cool! And the professor is great so that makes the class fun.

Calculus II: ew. ew. ew. I have to take it for my business minor and I'm just getting it out of the way. But after meeting with someone in the business school today I learned that I can take it pass/fail, which means there is a lot less pressure!

Microeconomics: also for my business minor. I'm really liking it! I think I'm going to be good at micro - again, don't quote me on that!

Intro to Children's Studies: A really interesting class so far! We'll be discussing the history of childhood and different notions about childhood. I'm really looking forward to it. Should be fascinating!

And that's it! Add in golf practice, Not for Sale meetings, church leadership responsibilites and time to eat and sleep and you've got one busy girl! But I'm definitely making time for my suitemates because we are having a blast together :) In fact, we just made a snickerdoodle cake together! Soon to be posted on my other blog!!!

Libby and Melanie made me a poster for my birthday!

And I got SO MUCH GOLF STUFF. Here's one of my many many many new apparel items.
I'll take a picture of it all soon :) it's kinda hilarious
